Tendencias actuales de las comunicaciones satelitales y su importancia en las redes móviles de 5ta generación (5G)

Abstract

Uno de los mayores retos tecnológicos de los últimos años es la implementación de redes de 5ta Generación de telefonía móvil (5G). Actualmente en Cuba se están implementando redes 3G y de esta manera se está preparando para el salto hacia la tecnología LTE (Evolución a Largo Plazo). No obstante, el inminente desarrollo de la 5G en el mundo hace necesaria la revisión de aspectos como qué tecnología emplear para sustentar los complejos requisitos de estas redes. En la actualidad las comunicaciones satelitales han experimentado avances importantes que según expertos pueden ser de vital importancia para suplir ciertos requisitos de la 5G. En este trabajo se exponen algunas de las tendencias actuales de las comunicaciones satelitales y su rol en la 5G, así como se realiza una propuesta de red basada en satélite para la infraestructura de red de telecomunicaciones de Cuba.
