Procedimiento para la migración a IPV6 con selección del mecanismo de migración
Abstract
El Protocolo de Internet versión 6 (Internet Protocol version 6, IPv6 por sus siglas en inglés) es un estándar conocido globalmente, que ha sido desplegado con éxito en múltiples redes. Surge como solución al agotamiento de direcciones ante una Internet donde cada vez son más los dispositivos y usuarios que se conectan a la red y consumen sus diferentes recursos. Como la mayor parte de la infraestructura de Internet está basada en IPv4, el cual no es compatible con IPv6, la migración hacia esta nueva versión del protocolo IP, no es un proceso inmediato ni simple por lo que muchos operadores han postergado su despliegue. La adopción del nuevo protocolo representa un costo económico para muchas instituciones en cuanto a la capacitación; el cambio de tecnologías, aplicaciones y/o protocolos bases y la paralización de las actividades durante el periodo de migración, lo cual afecta a los servicios que ofrecen dichas instituciones. Hoy la interrogante de muchas organizaciones es cómo migrar su red a IPv6 sin que ello represente pérdidas en sus metas de negocio. A esto da respuesta este trabajo en el cual, a partir de las características de la red, se plantea un procedimiento que establece los elementos que se deben tener en cuenta y los pasos que se deben seguir para la migración de la red de cualquier institución. La propuesta realizada fue aplicada en la empresa cubana Tecnomática, teniendo en cuenta sus necesidades y requerimientos tanto técnicos como económicos, lo que permite la validación del procedimiento planteado.
