Abstract

El presente articulo aborda de forma general cómo se lleva a cabo la gestión en los entornos virtualizados heterogéneos, los estándares definidos para ello por la Fuerza de Tareas de la Gestión Distribuida (DMTF), así como las características generales del Open Virtual Format (OVF) una especificación del DMTF para la gestión de la virtualización o Virtualization Management (VMAN) que estandariza un formato único para el empaquetado-distribución e implementación-instalación de sistemas virtuales independiente de la plataforma de virtualización empleada. Los beneficios que reporta el empleo de estos estándares a las organizaciones TI y los aportes, que en función de minimizar la complejidad de la gestión, han hecho algunos líderes de la virtualización como VMWare, son aspectos que se incluyen en este trabajo.
